Chocolate Kiss Cafe

Just a simple weekend brought us to UP Diliman campus to watch (again) Transit which had a screening at Cine Adarna - UP Film Center. After the screening, we searched for good place to stay and dine within the campus - thank you to Google Maps, it led us to Chocolate Kiss Cafe.

It's well-known for good sweet items like cakes and they also serve different ala carte that would cater the wide palate of students and the alumni as well.

The place is cozy and good for catching up with old friends and dining with your dear ones. When we arrived we were immediately assisted by the crew and even let us choose our table. It was a very late lunch for us, thus the place is not that full and maybe that gave us the chance to pick where we want to be seated. Anyway as the sign says, you just need to wait to be seated and be served well by their crew.

They have regular rectangular tables but we decided to stay in this cute shaped table. It is only when we were seated I realized that the shape of the table is the same as their logo. Cute concept, right?

Well, let's now go to the details of what we had. We had hard time deciding on what to have because their menu is really enticing, add that our hungry tummy wanting to have real good food. After careful consideration, finally, we got an appetizer and two pasta for our main course.

Piglets (Php 155.00) Bite-sized German franks wrapped in bacon. This may look a bit ordinary, but none of the main ingredient overpowered the other. Comes with a dip but can also be enjoyed plain and simple.

Red Pesto (Php 185.00) Linguine pesto pasta in tomato-based sauce, with red pimiento and olives. The usual pesto pasta is tossed in olive oil but this one's great idea too. The sauce blended well with the pesto flavor that it gives the dish a more delightful taste. I was never a fan of olives but I always order a pasta with one. Strange but the flavor gives the pasta a better taste for me.

Pesto Penne (Php 180.00) Penne pasta with basil, tossed in olive oil and garlic. My brother has a thing for Penne pasta and pesto. This is a perfect meal for him. Got to taste this too, and I now know why he love this. The ingredient and taste doesn't give you that complicated taste. You'll get to enjoy the pasta itself, since the base is not really the main focus of this meal. Simple yet, surely will please your palate.

Sweets or desserts is a must try here. In fact, upon entering their place, you will be welcomed by their desserts placed in their counter. Everything looks yummy especially to a sweet-tooth kid like me. Great selection, that we wanted to order one of each but it would be too much for us, right?

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake (Php 120.00) You'll love the smoothness of their cheesecake. This one's got the right sweet taste of cheesecake, with the chocolate chips the cause of this.

Dayap Cake (Php 85.00) Yes, this photo may not seem so palatable or presentable. But, as the saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover. Looks so simple, but when you get the chance to order this, you'll love this and you might even request for second round. The chiffon is really soft and contains that dayap taste. We tried to fight the feeling, but out cravings prevailed. we ordered not just one, but 2 slices as we really enjoyed it.

If you happen to visit this State University, drop by The Chocolate Kiss at Bahay ng Alumni (near UP Film Center) and grab a bite. You'll surely love it and will immediately plan your next food escapade here.
